David Carson

david carson lives on a small family farm, near tapawera in the motueka river valley, new zealand.

he is a self-taught artist using materials sourced from his local environs.  he processes with a minimal approach, trying to reduce the steps from raw material to finished work.

born in 1968, carson attended tapawera area school, nayland college and the university of canterbury.

he has exhibited in a variety of exhibitions around new zealand including headland sculpture on the gulf in 2005 and 2013 and was also one of the artists in the ‘sculpture in the gardens’ exhibition at the auckland botanic gardens in november 2017/2018

his work is included in the wallace arts trust collection
