ana ter huure lives in clevedon.

her painting-drawing practice focuses on her relationship with nonhuman companions (indigenous trees, rocks and birds) in places she loves and perceives as intrinsically spiritual.

intuition and enbodied awareness guide the painting process as ana responds sp0ntaneously to the movement and sound of birds (piwakawaka, tui, kereru and kotare) and environmental changes through gestural marks, gravity and the contingency of fluid media in partnership with the substrate.

ana holds a master of visual arts degree from aut and also teaches the arts at mt albert grammar school, auckland.
