the group of civilian protestors represent a rag tag bunch, fashioning their body armour, particularly helmet protection.

when the so called ‘arab spring’ protests erupted in egypt 2011 the citizens grabbed what they could to protect themselves against the police batons.  people used pots and pans, buckets, plastic waterbottles, one person even strapped a large bread roll to the top of his head, anything to help minimise the injury.
