TANIA SUTHERLAND

tania has been designing and making jewellery for over 20 years, working primarily in sterling silver, with occasional touches of gemstones and pearls to bring warmth and contrast to her designs.

her training was hands on.  she was fortuante to be mentored privately by a tutor who studied in london and taught at a technical institute, followed by classes with a brilliant artist annd jeweller in auckland.

tania’s inspiration comes from the shapes and textures of nature, as well as the clean balanced forms of geometry.  she loves how jewellery can carry personal meaning and become part of someone’s everyday life.  she says “it’s incredibly rewarding to know that people connect with my pieces and even more so when they tell me how much they enjoy wearing them”
